We celebrate NI Science Festival from the 16th - 26th February 2023 - this is the ninth addition celebrating the Science of you, the universe and everything in between.

The NI Science Festival website has lots of useful videos and events to show a variety of talks and workshops to engage, excite and inspire and they can be found here https://nisciencefestival.com/

Saint Kevin's College has a full week of events including the finale event on Friday when we will see six Professionals from within the Life and Health Science sector for our Year 12 students who have chosen to study Science at Post 16, and our current post 16 Science students.

We had lots of experiments with Year 8 students planting cress seeds in some very inventive ways to see if they would grow, our Year 14 students made aspirin and weighed and bagged it. We had investigations into radiation with Year 10 as well as acid reactions with Year 11 and we even had an Elephant pregnancy test in Year 9!

Our Year 12's took part in soil tests with our Year 13's attending afterschool’s to calculate the resistivity of a wire to attain the correct value.

Our Year 9's - took part in a live streaming of Zoo habitats. This workshop introduces pupils to different habitats from around the world: tropical rainforests, deserts, polar regions, and oceans.
